An Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (AOSG) is an official travel document required for some Filipino citizens planning to visit the United Arab Emirates, especially for longer stays or when visiting relatives and exploring employment opportunities. This document serves as a guarantee that the sponsor (a relative residing in the UAE) will financially support the traveler during their stay in the country.

The affidavit is applied for by eligible relatives holding Philippines passport and a valid UAE residence visa through the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. Affidavit of Support Requirements

An Affidavit of Support and Guarantee is a notarized document that includes the sponsor’s personal details and confirms the relationship between the sponsor and the traveler. Filipino travelers departing from the Philippines—especially first-time travelers or individuals previously employed in the UAE—may be required to present an affidavit of support, proof of funds (show money), and sponsor documents when passing through Philippine immigration.

The AOSG requirement usually applies to travelers departing directly from the Philippines and is generally not required for travelers entering the UAE from another country. For complete details on obtaining an AOSG with the assistance of your sponsor in the UAE, applicants should contact the Philippine Embassy or Consulate directly.

Passengers applying for a UAE visa through our service remain fully responsible for complying with Philippine immigration requirements. Kabayan UAE, a Dubai-based Filipino travel agency, does not assist with obtaining AOSG documents and cannot guarantee immigration clearance at Philippine airports.

What are the documents required?

• Copy of the visitor’s valid Filipino passport and UAE visa
• Sponsor’s valid passport and UAE residence visa copy
• Sponsor’s salary certificate or employment contract
• Bank statements as proof of financial capability
• Tenancy contract or valid hotel booking in the UAE
• Proof of relationship (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.)
• Additional supporting documents as required by the Consulate

Important Information About AOSG

• Household Service Workers (HSWs) are not allowed to act as sponsors.
• Senior citizens above 60 years old are exempted from AOSG requirements.
• Minors below 17 years old are exempted from AOSG requirements.
• Documents issued in Arabic should be translated into English.
• Applicants must sign the affidavit personally in front of Consular officials.
• Tampered or fraudulent documents will be confiscated and may lead to legal action.
• Payments made for forged documents may be forfeited.
