Dubai remains one of the most popular destinations for Filipinos — whether to visit family, explore the city, or see what working life in the UAE is like. If you hold a Philippine passport, here's what you need to know about getting a UAE tourist visa in 2026.

Disclaimer: UAE visa rules, fees and processing times are updated regularly by the ICP and GDRFA Dubai. This guide is based on public information as of October 2026. Always confirm current requirements with official UAE government sources or a licensed travel agency before applying.

Do Filipinos Need a Visa for the UAE?

Yes, most Filipinos need a visa before traveling. The UAE does not offer visa-free entry to Philippine passport holders.

The exception (new in 2026): Since 25 June 2026, Filipinos who hold a valid visa, residence permit or Green Card from certain countries — including the US, EU member states, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and New Zealand — can get a visa on arrival. Read the details in our guide to the UAE visa on arrival for Filipinos.

If you don't have one of those visas, you'll need a pre-arranged tourist visa.

Supporting documents that help

Applying Through a Relative vs. a Travel Agency

Option 1: Sponsored by a relative in the UAE

A UAE resident can sponsor family members. In July 2026, GDRFA Dubai clarified minimum sponsor salaries (as reported by Gulf News and KPMG):

  • First-degree relatives (parents, spouse, children): AED 4,000/month
  • Second- and third-degree relatives (siblings, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins): AED 8,000/month
  • Friends: AED 15,000/month

Refundable security deposits may also apply.

Option 2: Through a licensed travel agency

If you don't have a sponsor — or don't meet the salary rules — a licensed agency like Kabayan UAE can apply for your tourist visa directly. This is the most common route for first-time visitors.

Visa Fees: What to Expect

Official government fees reported for 2026 (before VAT, insurance and service charges):

  • Single entry: AED 200 (30 days), AED 300 (60 days), AED 400 (90 days)
  • Multiple entry: AED 300 (30 days), AED 500 (60 days), AED 700 (90 days)

Travel agency packages include processing, insurance and support, so the final price will be higher than the government fee. Kabayan UAE tourist visa services start from AED 390.

Processing Time

Most tourist visas are processed in a few working days, but peak seasons (December, Eid holidays, summer) can be slower. Apply at least 2–3 weeks before your flight.

Don't Forget the Philippine Side

Your UAE visa gets you into the UAE. To leave the Philippines, you still need to pass BI. Prepare:

  • Return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of funds or employment (see our show money guide)
  • PSA documents and an AOSG if sponsored by a relative, where required

Planning to Look for Work?

Many kabayans come on a tourist visa to explore job opportunities. Be aware:

  • Working on a tourist visa is illegal in the UAE
  • Your employer must arrange a proper work permit and residence visa
  • The Philippine government strongly encourages going through proper OFW channels (DMW-accredited agencies)

If you're already in the UAE and need more time, see our guide on visit visa extension without exit.

Frequently asked questions

How early should I apply for my UAE tourist visa?

Two to three weeks before your flight is a safe window. During December and Eid holidays, apply even earlier.

Can I apply if I've been refused a UAE visa before?

Often yes, but the reason for the earlier refusal matters. Share the details with your agency so they can advise honestly before you pay.

Do I need a hotel booking if I'm staying with family?

Not always for the visa itself, but Philippine immigration may ask where you'll stay. Your sponsor's tenancy contract or a hotel booking both work.
